6Data Processing Terms
Where challenge ME processes personal data on behalf of a participating school (the “School”) in connection with the challenge ME Maths Championship, the following terms apply:
1Roles and Responsibilities
The School is the Data Controller and challenge ME is the Data Processor in relation to personal information provided by the School. challenge ME will process personal information on the School's documented instructions and in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
2Personal Information
The information shared with challenge ME may include student names, year/grade group, school email address, qualification and results information, together with parent/guardian names and email addresses where required. This information will be limited to what is necessary to administer the challenge ME Maths Championship and provide the associated platform services.
3Use of Information
challenge ME will use personal information only to administer and deliver the Championship, including student registration, platform access, Quest delivery, results processing, qualification tracking and competition-related communication. challenge ME will not use student or parent/guardian information for marketing, advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
4School Responsibilities
The School is responsible for ensuring that the sharing of personal information with challenge ME is carried out in accordance with its own policies, permissions and arrangements and applicable data protection requirements. Schools should make the challenge ME Parent Data Usage Notice available to relevant parents/guardians as part of their existing information and consent processes.
5Security and Service Providers
challenge ME will take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information and may use trusted service providers, including AWS for hosting and email delivery and Stripe for payment processing. Where information is transferred internationally, challenge ME will apply appropriate safeguards in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.
6Retention
Personal information will be retained only for as long as necessary to administer the Championship and complete associated competition administration, after which it will be securely deleted unless continued retention is required by law.
